FEDERAL CHANCELLOR MERKEL: Good morning. We will today begin the third day of negotiations, and it will certainly be the decisive round. We have now thoroughly explored the various issues – the size of the fund, questions of governance and also issues related to the rule of law.

Whether or not there will be a solution I still cannot say. There is much goodwill, but there are many positions as well. I will therefore do my best to help this come about; but there is also the possibility that we will not reach a solution today.
