Commitment to climate neutrality by 2050 is a “milestone”
The EU heads of state and government met in Brussels and agreed to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. At the end of the summit, Federal Chancellor Merkel spoke of a “milestone in European climate policy”. Following elections in Great Britain, Brexit and future relations with Great Britain were also on the agenda. more

At a four-way meeting in Paris, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Presidents of France, Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine by the end of 2019. Further steps were also agreed to de-escalate the situation in the region. more

Summit approves Brexit agreement
The European Council has approved the Brexit agreement hammered out between the European Union and the United Kingdom.
