Brigitte Zypries has headed the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy since 27 January 2017. She was born in Kassel in 1953 and served as Federal Minister of Justice from 2002 to 2009. From December 2013 to the end of January 2017 she was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and has acted as the Federal Government Coordinator of German Aerospace Policy since January 2014.
